Hello everyone, we are really excited about learning on this program with all of you and can't wait for the kickoff this Wednesday, Oct 22. Are you waiting excitedly as well?
We have planned an interesting moviemaking project for you. We will be watching some nice movie samples made by other students, planning, learning to edit and make great movies together!

One Question I'd like to ask Yin, Yan & Peter is " How long have you been learning movie production "
A long time... :-). Well, I enjoy watching movies and have always examined movies closely for the creative ways they are being produced. I also worked in a company as an instructional designer in Singapore, and worked closely with the video production unit. In Syracuse University, I studied Digital Media Production to learn how to edit video. And I'm still learning... - yin
I learned movie production in one of my undergraduate course. That was long long ago. I found it very useful. Sometimes I will even produce a movie as a gift for my friend.
I learned movie production through trail and error. I used Ulead VideoStudio to creat my graduate album. It will be a surge of success when you see your final product and share it through the Internet.
I do well in transcoding. For example, to re-code "avi" movie into "real media" -- this kind of stuff.

I just want to say that i enjoy your class. And i would like to know how many types of different video cameras are there and what made you want to start to learn more about video cameras?
Thank you anikar!
There are acout 3 or 4 types of VCs, all of them have the same function but the buttons are in different positions. So don't worry about those differences. I am sure you can master all if you master one model.
We also try our best to make sure every group will keep using the same model.
The second question, We want to make sure every student can master some basic skills in handling VCs, and shooting skills -- critical in making movies.
